I use poetry as a means to get beyond words

I, like you, live in language.

I am enthralled, enraptured,

and then language alludes me.

It turns on me.

It imposes on me.

It frames me.

Poetics comes along

offering manoeuvres

I wouldn’t otherwise have.

The trick is –

how not to be framed by poetics?

Yes I totally agree that we can be constrained by language. For me with only a left side to my brain – the right atrophied years ago – only dream of how freeing it must be to be able to use poetry to use words to go beyond words. SuDo
